What we did:
For this one location specialty retailer we created a very basic Good Customer Club using Verifone Trans 330 terminals to capture sales data. This is a classic RFM model dating back to the 1980s. We wanted to prove that a single location could have the same opportunity to conduct a loyalty program the same way as the big chains do – and we did.
In 2011, the GSOM installed a 21st century POS system and we are in the process of converting to a new data model that will allow sophisticated data mining.
What we learned:
Regardless of a client’s technology and POS/host system, regardless of its size, we can build a powerful marketing program that focuses on the customer.
